Chris Sparks is a man with a unique refreshing style Nov 09, 2001
By Jeanne J. Mortensen Chris Sparks has a voice, a style, and lyrics that makes me want to keep listening. His voice and style are unique and his lyrical prose shows humor and insight. The songs on the Chris Sparks album were all written by the singer. Not since Chris LeDoux have I heard a singer with as much intergrity. With such tallent, I am sure Chris just beginning his road to great success. This is an album to purchase!

Great Rodeo Album For the Road! Jul 04, 2003 Being a pro bull rider, I of course like to hear music that relates to rodeo. So, I am a big Chris LeDoux fan. I've been hearing about another Chris that does rodeo music. I finally got a chance to hear it and love it. I'm glad there are still country artists who recognize that rodeo and the cowboy way of life is the core of country music. This is a great CD for rodeo and traditional country music fans. 'Born to Ride' is my new anthem and 'Barstool Cowboy' is hilarious! Buy it and support real country music and rodeo!

HOT RODEO MUSIC FROM A HOT COWBOY! Nov 07, 2001
By Carolina Cowgirl For those of you looking for new traditional country or rodeo music, you should definitely check out Chris Sparks who wrote all the songs on the CD. I'm amazed at how many people I run into on the rodeo circuit that know about Chris' music. You can hear the influence of Chris LeDoux on songs like 'Born to Ride' and 'Let'em Ride' which I would compare most to LeDoux's 'Hooked on an 8 Second Ride'. Sparks even relates to this song in 'Barstool Cowboy' which is a tongue-in-cheek song about a guy who's mom wouldn't let him ride rodeo. So, he became a barstool cowboy and was 'Hooked on an 8-shot Ride'. Throughout the CD, you can hear Sparks' cowboy humor especially in songs like 'Drinkin' My Blues' and 'I Don't Need Your Love'. But, he quickly turns on the cowboy romance in 'I Can't Take It That Slow' where he sings about meeting someone and not being able to slow down the relationship. It's hot and reminds me of Conway. In 'I Can't Write A Love Song', Chris writes that he wants to wait to write love songs until he meets his wife. Yes, girls, he's single. Let's just say he does his Wrangler's justice. You can see more photos on his Official Web Site. Also check out his official site for lyrics and stories behind the songs. Overall, I'd say that Chris is one to watch especially as traditional music returns to the forefront. With loads of rodeo songs, this CD is upbeat country that is perfect for getting from town to town and pumped up for the next ride! I love every song on it!

Awesome Rodeo Songs! Oct 23, 2002 I'm a huge LeDoux fan. Out on the rodeo circuit, I kept hearing about another Chris. I thought they were talking about LeDoux. One night I bummed a ride to the next rodeo with a bronc rider and he had a bootleg tape playing. It sounded different. But, I thought it had to be LeDoux. The guy said it was Chris Sparks, not LeDoux. So, I looked it up on the Web and bought it. I love it. Now, I keep hearing bootleg copies. But, I got the real thing. I recommend you should too.
